Etawah: Uttar Pradesh police has arrested a dreaded criminal after a brief encounter in Bharthana area of the district here.
During the late last night encounter, four policemen, including two (Station Officers) SOs, along with the criminal, were injured in the cross firing.
The criminal has been identified as Amit Yadav on whom UP police had announced a reward of Rs 12,000.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna said here today that police was checking the vehicles near Jhindua bridge when a youth coming on motorcycle was stopped but he tried to flee.
When police chased him, the criminal opened fire on the police team. (UNI)
