Gorakhpur tragedy: PM directs Anupriya Patel to take stock of the situation
New Delhi: Close on the heels of death of sixty children due to shortage of oxygen in a Gorakhpur hospital in BJP-ruled UP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today directed Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel to take stock of the situation as a priority.
“MoS Health Anupriya Patel and the Union Health Secretary (CK Mishra) will take stock of the situation from Gorakhpur”, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.
The statement further said the Prime Minister is “constantly monitoring the situation in Gorakhpur”.
“He is in constant touch with authorities from the Central and UP governments,” the statement said.
The BJP government in the state has come under attack from the opposition Congress and other parties like Samajwadi and BSP. (UNI)
