Srinagar, Sep 9: Two militants were killed and a girl was injured in an encounter with security forces at Shopian in south Kashmir, where a policeman was killed and two others were injured this evening.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range Muneer Khan told UNI that following specific information about presence of militants, Special Operation Group (SOG) of state police and the Army launched a joint search operation at Imam Sahib in Shopian.
However, when security forces were cordoning off the area, militants hiding there, fired at them with automatic weapons. (UNI)
