Army brass calls for deradicalisation programmes for youth in Valley
New Delhi, Apr 20 : Deliberating at length on the situation along the nation’s frontiers with China and Pakistan, Army Commanders on Friday called for conduct of deradicalisation programmes to bring the youth of Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream.
The Army Commanders’ Conference, underway here from April 16, will wind down tomorrow.
The top brass discussed the increase in ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, the situation in Kashmir Valley and the challenges faced by security forces.
Director General Staff Duty Lt Gen AK Sharma said, ”Considerable time was spent to reprioritise the existing requirements to ensure optimal utilisation of budgetary allocations for force modernisation and capacity building.
”
On Saturday, the Commanders will discuss issues relating to military operations. (UNI)
