Our stand on Article 370, Common Civil Code remains unchanged: Nitish
Channagiri, May 6 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday strongly declared that the stand
of his party JD(U) on the issue of Article 370 and Common Civil Code was well known and it remained unchanged.
Mr Kumar, while campaigning for his party candidate Mahima Patel in Channagiri constituency in
Karnataka assembly elections, said the stand of his party was well known on the issue of Article 370
and Common Civil Code.
‘It was painful to note that politics of confrontation was taking its centre stage and it must be
avoided,’ he added.
“I noticed that words chosen by some leaders for criticising their opponents, were not in accordance
with the decorum of politics as it should be,’ the Chief Minister said, adding that decorum must be
maintained in political debate.
There might be a difference among political parties but debate should be logical and conclusive, he
said, adding that under no circumstances, it should take the shape of political confrontation.
Mr Kumar said his party would not compromise with three Cs –Corruption, Crime and Communalism.
It was a well known fact among the people that he had not compromised with his principles in past and
would not do so in future as well, he stressed.
The Chief Minister appreciated Karnataka, saying it was a developed state having contributed enormously
in development of the country. Corruption was rampant under present dispensation in the state and if it was wiped out, Karnataka would contribute more aggressively in development of the nation, he remarked.
Mr Kumar called upon the people to support his party candidates in Karnataka assembly elections. Our
party would try to check the corruption and promote value based politics in the state, he added.
