Kejriwal made wrong remark on LG’s participation in GC meet: NITI Aayog

New Delhi, June 17  : NITI Aayog clarified on Sunday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made wrong remark on the issue of participation of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal in governing council meeting of the NITI Aayog here.
Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog said that Delhi LG was not present in the said meeting in place of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Mr Kejriwal had twitted that LG was attending the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr Kant said that LG is not the member of the Council and was not invited by the NITI Aayog. The invitation was sent to Mr Kejriwal only and he was requested more than once for the participation in the meeting.
Mr Kant added that Mr Kejriwal did not say yes or no whether he will participate in the meeting or not.
Mr Kant also clarified that in this meeting representative on behalf of any CM is not allowed as it is the highest policy making body of the Government of India.
