Life of inmates in grave danger at Amphala jail Jammu: JKLF

Says “prisoner is on hunger strike, another injured in attack”

Srinagar, Oct 03 (PR): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has strongly condemned the ‘ongoing oppression unleashed’ against Kashmiri inmates in different jails.
According to the statement issue to KPS, JKLF spokesman said that relatives of two prisoners namely Muhammad Ishaaq Palla of Shopian and Ubaid Untoo of Sopore visited JKLF office and said that “both inmates along with others are living a worried life as their lives are in a constant danger.”
“Inmate Muhammad Ishaaq Pala who is languishing at Amphala jail Jammu is on hunger strike as he is from a long time not being produced before court under the pretext of security and other bogus reasons,” JKLF said.
The statement said that his old aged ailing mother is also unable to meet him from last eight months. “Kith and kin of another inmate Ubaid Untoo from Sopore told JKLF that this prisoner was attacked at the said jail by some fanatics who beat him ruthlessly and caused grave injuries to him,” it added.
The delegation told JKLF officials that ‘at this jail and other jails of Jammu, the lives of inmates is in serious danger as they have been put into solitarily confinements and separate barks and criminals belonging to fanatic groups have been let loose by jail authorities and are attacking them at will.’
