Masrat Aalam not presented before court: ML
Srinagar, Dec 26: Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday said that Masrat Alam was scheduled to be presented before Forest court, but the authorities again did not present him before the judge for trail.
“In this week Masrat Aalam is scheduled to be presented before additional district and session judge, chief judicial magistrate, 4th additional judge and Passenger court for hearing of frivolous charges against him and is about to get clean chit and release orders from court now, that is why authorities are deliberately doing it under a plan so that he is not released by the court.” It is an attempt to prolong his illegal detention, said a spokesperson of Muslim League in a statement to KNS.
Spokesperson said that Muslim League (ML) chairman Masarat Aalam was not brought to court, as was directed by court. Masrat Alam was to be presented in forest court but due to some unknown reasons authorities violated the court orders and didn’t presented him before court
The ML spokesperson, Sajad Ayoubi, said that Masarat Aalam Bhat was scheduled to be presented before the court but authorities don’t pay heed on the court orders. He said that, Indian authorities tarnish the image and stature of its own judiciary by not respecting them.
“It is the worst form of human rights violation and a glaring example of political vendetta,” Sajad Ayoubi said.
Ayoubi said that not presenting Masrat Aalam before the Court is an attempt to prolong their illegal detention and suppress our freedom movement.
He said that Indian authorities are using these tactics to prolong the illegal detention of Masrat Aalam Bhat, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Assadullah Parray,M Molvi Sajad, Mohammad Hayat Bhat, Showkat Hakeem , Mehraj-ud-din Nanda, M Mohammad Amin Dar, Waheed Ahmad Gojree, and of all other detainees languishing in different jails. But these tactics will not deter us from pursuing our goal of freedom.
Muslim League strongly stressed for the early release of Masrat Aalam Bhat and appealed to the United Nations, OIC, Human Rights Council, Red Cross, Amnesty International and other human rights bodies to come forward and take note and the cognizance of illegal detention of Masrat Aalam under draconian law PSA which has crossed the world record.
