Rain Likely Until May 12 in J&K, Dry Spell Expected Thereafter: MeT
The Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather bulletin for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at many places in the Jammu Division, and at a few locations in the Kashmir Division today.
Forecast Details:
May 8–11: Partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thundershowers and gusty winds at scattered to fairly widespread places.
May 12: Possibility of brief, isolated rain/thundershowers.
May 13–17: Weather is expected to remain generally dry across the Union Territory.
Advisory:
Residents and tourists are advised to follow administrative and traffic advisories during inclement weather.
Boating and Shikara rides on Dal Lake, Wular Lake, and other water bodies should be avoided during gusty winds or storms.
Intense rainfall in some vulnerable areas may trigger landslides or mudslides.
A significant rise in day temperatures is expected from May 13 onward, particularly across the Jammu Division.
Authorities urge the public to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the forecasted period.
