Here is the Latest Weather Alert for Jammu & Kashmir

The Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, warning of intermittent rain, gusty winds, and potential flash floods over the next few days. 

According to the forecast, the region is likely to witness generally cloudy weather from July 29 to 31, with intermittent light to moderate rain expected at many places. Intense showers and gusty winds are also likely at isolated locations. 

A higher alert has been issued for parts of the Jammu Division, including Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, and Samba, where heavy to very heavy rain is forecast at isolated to scattered places, particularly during late night and early morning hours.  From August 1 to 3, weather is expected to turn hot and humid, with only brief spells of rain or thundershowers at a few locations.

Another round of rainfall is anticipated between August 4 and 6, with fresh spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely across many areas.  Advisory Issued The MeT Centre Srinagar has urged the public to remain cautious as:  Intense showers, thunder, and gusty winds are possible at isolated spots during July 29–31.

Flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones may occur, especially in vulnerable areas. Water levels in rivers and streams may rise significantly, with waterlogging possible in low-lying areas of the Jammu Division. Residents, especially those in flood-prone or hilly regions, are advised to stay alert and follow updates from local authorities.
