As part of the Nationwide CPR Awareness Week, Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Health Department (Medical Block Ganderbal), the NSS Unit, NCC Wing, and the Health Committee, organized a CPR Awareness and Demonstration Program aimed at promoting life-saving skills among students and faculty.

The session focused on educating participants about the importance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and training them in essential Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques. The live demonstration was conducted by Dr. Syed Zahid, Dr. Sheikh Tariq Sultan, and Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, who provided hands-on training on chest compressions, rescue breathing, and emergency response protocols.

Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, NSS Programme Officer, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event, ensuring active student participation and smooth collaboration with the health team. The college’s Health Committee also contributed significantly to the successful execution of the program.

The Principal of GDC Ganderbal appreciated the joint efforts of all collaborators and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering youth with vital emergency response skills. The Principal encouraged the continuation of similar awareness programs to build a community better prepared to act swiftly and effectively in critical situations.

Such awareness drives not only educate but also instill a sense of social responsibility, ensuring that more individuals are capable of saving lives when every second truly matters.
