The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has announced that it will hold a peaceful march towards the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on October 27, 2025, to remind the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jenab Omar Abdullah, of his commitment to regularize daily wagers and other employees.
The decision follows a successful convention held on October 16, 2025, in Srinagar, which witnessed the participation of over 10,000 employees and workers from various government departments across Kashmir. The event, described as one of the largest employee gatherings in recent years, was aimed at showcasing unity among the workforce and pressing for the fulfilment of long-pending promises.
In a statement issued after a follow-up meeting held today under the chairmanship of EJAC President Wajahat Hussain, the organization expressed gratitude to all constituent bodies, leaders, and volunteers for their active role in making the convention a success.
After detailed discussions, the EJAC leadership unanimously resolved to continue the momentum by organizing the peaceful march. The march, scheduled for Monday, October 27, will be conducted in a disciplined and dignified manner, with participants refraining from any objectionable slogans or protests.
“The objective of the march is to remind the Hon’ble Chief Minister of his assurance made on the floor of the House in March 2025, wherein he had stated that in the next Assembly session, ‘the good news of regularization will be announced,’” said President Wajahat Hussain.
Reiterating EJAC’s commitment to a peaceful and democratic approach, Hussain expressed hope that the government would honor its assurances and take concrete steps to address the genuine concerns of daily wagers and other employees without further delay.
The EJAC has also appealed to all legislators, irrespective of party affiliation, to support the employees’ long-pending and legitimate demands for regularization. get headlines
