Punjab Education ‘Gone to the Dogs,’ Says BJP’s Tarun Chugh

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday criticised the Bhagwant Mann–led AAP government in Punjab, alleging severe neglect in the state’s primary and higher education sectors.

Chugh said that while the government has been “busy sending teachers on foreign trips,” the situation on the ground remains “alarming and shocking.”

He claimed there has been a significant dip in enrolment in primary schools, yet the state government continues to prioritise overseas training programmes for teachers, “which are hardly delivering results where it matters.”

Accusing the AAP government of pushing both school and higher education “to the dogs,” Chugh said the growing deterioration has created an atmosphere of frustration among students.

The BJP leader demanded that the foreign trips of teachers be scrutinised by a central agency to ensure that “Punjabis are not cheated by the Bhagwant Mann government.”
