Separatist leader Shabir Shah was produced before a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jammu in connection with a nearly three-decade-old case linked to violence in Srinagar in 1996.
The case pertains to allegations of conspiracy and involvement in unrest during the mid-1990s in Kashmir, which remained under investigation for years before being taken up by the NIA.
Shah was re-arrested by the NIA earlier this month and initially produced before a special court in Delhi, which granted transit remand for his transfer to Jammu for further proceedings.
According to case records, the broader investigation relates to alleged separatist activities, including mobilizing protests and other actions linked to disturbances during that period.
Shah, who has faced multiple detentions over the years and was arrested by the NIA in a funding case in 2019, remains under judicial process in various cases.
