MooL Sustainability Center Opens Applications for 2026-27 “RISE UP” Kashmir Fellowship

Applications have opened for the second cohort of RISE UP: The Sustainable Kashmir Fellowships, a seven-month program for young people across Kashmir focused on leadership development, ecological entrepreneurship, and purpose-driven careers.

The fellowship is run by the MooL Sustainability Research and Training Center in Ganderbal, with support from the Royal Enfield Social Mission. It will run from July 2026 to February 2027 and is open to applicants aged 18 to 30.

Only ten fellows will be selected through a three-stage process involving a written application, a phone interview, and a final interview. The application deadline is June 15, 2026.

The program combines residential workshops in Kashmir, a field immersion exchange in Himachal Pradesh with The Himalayan Hub, a two-month internship with partner organizations, and one-on-one mentorship from entrepreneurs and coaches. Fellows also receive a performance-based monthly stipend and a certificate on completion, and will take part in the Journeying Across The Himalayas (JATH) festival in Delhi.

Organizers say the program aims to help young people clarify their goals and develop practical plans for ventures, careers, or community initiatives, while building a long-term peer network through a RISE UP alumni community.

A fellow from the 2025-26 cohort, Mohammad Arfat Khan, described the program as having helped him grow as a leader and turn his goals into action, and said he would recommend it to other young people looking to create impact.

Interested applicants can apply via the online form linked on MooL Sustainability's social media channels (@sustainablekashmir) or contact the organization directly by email or WhatsApp for more information.
