The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir has arrested an accused who had been absconding for more than three years in connection with an NDPS case.

The accused, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie of Zainapora, Shopian, was wanted in FIR No. 02/2022 registered under Sections 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Officials said he had evaded arrest since the registration of the case, prompting the court to initiate proceedings against him. Following sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering, ANTF apprehended him on Sunday and initiated further legal proceedings.

The agency reiterated its commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking and urged the public to share information on narcotics-related activities.
