MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah virtually participated in a high-level meeting today, chaired by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Surinder Choudhary Ji. Infrastructure & Connectivity:
Macadamization & Road Development: Urged the government to include 100 km of road macadamization in the upcoming financial year’s plan.
Bridges for Connectivity: Pushed for the construction of 10 key bridges, including the Lalpora-Mamusa and Pinjoora-Budran Bridges, to improve accessibility.
Completion of NABARD-Funded Roads: Stressed the immediate completion of ongoing NABARD-funded road projects to enhance regional connectivity.
Tangmarg-Khaipora Road Upgradation: Highlighted the need for urgent upgradation and widening of this crucial road.
Poonch-Loran-Tangmarg Road: Emphasized the importance of speeding up completion of this strategic road for better accessibility.

Tourism Development & Promotion:
Gulmarg as a Global Destination: Advocated for the sustainable development of Gulmarg Tourist Resort as a Mini-Switzerland, in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of making it India’s Winter Capital.
Babareshi-Gulmarg Cable Car Project: Proposed the development of a cable car from Babareshi to Gulmarg to improve connectivity and attract more tourists.
Additional Parking in Tangmarg: Requested expanded parking spaces to accommodate the increasing tourist influx and decongest traffic.
Public Welfare & Essential Services:
Water Reservoirs to Address Shortage: Highlighted the severe water crisis and called for the construction of multiple water reservoirs for uninterrupted water supply.
Sanctioning of Additional Ration Depots: Demanded more ration depots to ensure food security across the constituency.
Completion of Mini-Secretariat in Tangmarg: Urged authorities to finish the long-abandoned Mini-Secretariat, making governance more efficient and accessible.
Education & Skill Development:
Establishment of an ITI: Called for setting up an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) to equip the youth with modern skills and enhance employment prospects.
Safety & Urban Development:
Lighting of Narbal-Tangmarg Road: Stressed the immediate installation of streetlights along this key road for safety and smooth travel.
