India, Pak Agree to Ceasefire Across All Fronts After DGMO-Level Talks
In a significant diplomatic and military development, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on Thursday that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan held a crucial conversation at 15:35 hours earlier in the afternoon.
As per the agreement reached during the call, both nations have committed to halting all firing and military operations — whether on land, in the air, or at sea — starting from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time today.
“Instructions have been issued on both sides to implement this understanding immediately,” Misri stated during a press briefing.
He further confirmed that the DGMOs of the two countries are scheduled to reconvene on May 12 at 1200 hours to assess the situation and ensure continued adherence to the ceasefire.
The agreement comes in the wake of heightened hostilities along the India-Pakistan border, including cross-border drone incursions, artillery shelling, and retaliatory strikes that had raised tensions across the region.
