As counting progresses in the Budgam bypoll, People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Aga Syed Muntazir has taken a significant lead of 1,091 votes over National Conference (NC) candidate Aga Syed Mahmood after the fourth round.
Muntazir has secured 5,117 votes, while Mahmood has polled 4,026 votes so far. Independent candidate Mohd Sameer Bhat follows with 1,862 votes, AIP-backed candidate Nazir Ahmad Khan has bagged 1,407 votes, and independent candidate Jibran Dar has received 1,228 votes.
Meanwhile, in the Nagrota Assembly by-election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has widened its lead after three rounds of counting. BJP’s Devyani Rana has garnered 11,581 votes, while Harshdev Singh of the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (India) has secured 4,180 votes.
