IMF Outlook Validates India’s Growth Story Under PM Modi’s Leadership: Tarun Chugh
BJP National General Secretary and party in-charge for Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana and Ladakh, Tarun Chugh, on Tuesday said that the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) latest World Economic Outlook strongly endorses India’s growth trajectory under the stable and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on social media, Chugh said India continues to stand out as the fastest-growing major economy in the world, with the IMF revising upward its growth forecast for FY 2025–26 to 7.3 per cent. He noted that this is significantly higher than the global average growth rate of 3.3 per cent and well above growth projections for advanced economies.
According to Chugh, the upward revision reflects strong economic performance in the third quarter and sustained momentum in the fourth quarter, underscoring the impact of the Modi government’s reform-oriented policies. He highlighted the government’s sustained push for capital expenditure, rapid infrastructure build-out, expansion of manufacturing, strengthening of digital public goods, and maintenance of macroeconomic stability.
“Even as global growth moderates, India remains a key engine of the world economy,” Chugh said, pointing out that the IMF has projected India’s growth at 6.4 per cent for both 2026 and 2027.
He added that stable leadership, structural reforms and strong economic fundamentals have positioned India as a global growth leader despite prevailing international uncertainties.
