JDU Prez G.M. Shaheen Offers Prayers at Ajmer Sharif for Peace in J&K
Janata Dal United (JDU) Party President G.M. Shaheen on Friday visited the sacred Ajmer Dargah Sharief, where he offered a ceremonial Chaadar at the revered shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti (RA), a globally respected symbol of peace, tolerance, and universal brotherhood.
During his visit, Shaheen offered special prayers for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, seeking an end to suffering, injustice, and prolonged uncertainty, and praying for lasting peace, dignity, development, and democratic empowerment in the region. He also prayed for national unity, communal harmony, and the strengthening of India’s pluralistic ethos.
Speaking on the occasion, the JDU President said that the teachings of Khwaja Garib Nawaz continue to serve as a powerful reminder that hatred, violence, and division have no place in a civilized society. He emphasized that India must move forward on the path of justice, equality, and mutual respect among all communities, adding that Jammu and Kashmir deserves peace with honour and dignity.
Shaheen further stated that the Janata Dal United remains firmly committed to democratic values, grassroots empowerment, and the protection of constitutional rights. He said the party would continue to raise its voice for the aspirations and welfare of the people, especially those who have endured decades of hardship.
Describing the visit as more than a symbolic gesture, Shaheen said it reflected a clear moral stand for peace, justice, and humanity.
