Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid tributes to the armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a symbol of India’s resolve against terrorism.
In separate messages, the leaders praised the courage, precision and coordination displayed by the armed forces during the operation launched on the night of May 7–8 last year in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists.
PM Modi said the operation reflected India’s firm commitment to defeating terrorism and dismantling its support network, while Amit Shah termed it a defining moment showcasing the country’s military capability and political resolve.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Operation Sindoor demonstrated unmatched jointness and operational preparedness, while LG Manoj Sinha called it a testament to India’s determination to protect sovereignty and ensure a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation had targeted multiple terror facilities across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir using coordinated strikes involving missiles, drones, air power and artillery.
