Peoples Democratic Party president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday visited the AIIMS Awantipora project site to assess the progress of construction and interact with officials overseeing the prestigious healthcare initiative.
Mehbooba was accompanied by MLA Tral Rafiq Ahmad Naik and MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra during the visit. The PDP delegation reviewed the status of construction, engaged with concerned agencies and sought details regarding the pace of work, infrastructure development and timelines for completion of the facility.
The former Chief Minister stressed the importance of making advanced healthcare services accessible to the people of the region and reiterated her commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at ensuring the project's timely completion. She said quality healthcare infrastructure remains essential for public welfare and called for coordinated efforts to make the institution functional at the earliest.
AIIMS Awantipora is considered one of the most significant healthcare infrastructure initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir and is expected to provide specialised medical services, advanced treatment facilities and medical education opportunities once fully operational.
