Baramulla Police on Wednesday disengaged SPO Khalid Nazir Khan (3098/SPO) of Katipora, Tangmarg, with immediate effect following his involvement in an NDPS case.
According to police, on April 23, 2026, an Alto vehicle was intercepted during a naka check at Wussan Crossing by Police Station Kunzer. The SPO and other occupants were found in a suspicious condition, with syringes and needles recovered from their possession and silver foil used for narcotic consumption found in the vehicle. FIR No. 46/2026 under Sections 8/27/29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kunzer.
Police said the SPO's conduct was unbecoming of a member of a disciplined force and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and misconduct within its ranks.
