Join Us at Jantar Mantar, J&K Deputy CM Appeals to All Parties on Statehood

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Wednesday said all political parties have been invited to join the J&K government's protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi seeking restoration of statehood.

Speaking to reporters in Bandipora, Choudhary said the statehood issue concerns the identity and aspirations of the people of J&K and transcends political affiliations. "We have invited and appealed to all political parties to join our protest at Jantar Mantar in favour of the restoration of statehood. Let us see who comes and joins us," he said.

The Deputy CM also urged the Centre to fulfil its commitment on statehood, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had previously assured its restoration.

Earlier, Choudhary inspected several developmental projects in Bandipora, including the Naninara Bridge, and emphasised the need for their timely completion.
