Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday dismissed Mehbooba Mufti's allegations of 25,000 irregular appointments, accusing the Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party of hypocrisy and alleging that previous governments made numerous backdoor recruitments, many of which were later struck down by courts.
He challenged Mehbooba Mufti to produce evidence of even a single backdoor appointment under his government and said two senior ministers would soon present the government's response with supporting facts.
Speaking in Zadibal during Youm-e-Ashura, Abdullah also expressed hope that the traditional Ashura procession route would soon be fully restored and said his government would continue efforts towards that goal while highlighting the enduring lessons of the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS).
