Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today called for renewed collective resolve to protect youth from substance abuse and realise the vision of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

In a post on X, the LG urged all stakeholders to strengthen awareness campaigns and uphold social responsibility to safeguard future generations. "Through collective action, awareness and social responsibility, we can defeat this menace and build a healthier society for future generations," he said.

The LG stressed that defeating the drug menace requires combined efforts from the administration, civil society and citizens at large.

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed globally on June 26 each year to strengthen action and cooperation towards achieving a drug-free world.
