Former Sarpanch Mohd Iqbal Tantary was killed after shooting stones struck the vehicle he was travelling in near Trishul Morh on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district.
A resident of Seeri, Tantary sustained critical injuries when boulders rolled down from a hillock and hit the vehicle, and was declared dead on the spot. Authorities carried out road clearance and traffic restoration after the incident.
The tragedy has sparked grief in the local community, with residents and public representatives expressing condolences to the bereaved family.
