National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Tuesday dismissed speculation about forming a new political party, saying the media appeared more interested in the idea than he was.
He also reiterated that he would not participate in the National Conference’s proposed Jantar Mantar protest, maintaining that the party’s electoral mandate was for the restoration of Article 370 rather than statehood alone.
Ruhullah further said horse-trading has no place in a democracy and criticised any attempts to undermine the people’s mandate through political defections.
