The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a flash flood advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting a significant wet spell from July 18.

While weather is expected to remain hot and humid with isolated showers until July 17, light to moderate rain is likely to intensify between July 20 and 22, with the peak expected on July 21.

The MeT has warned of heavy rainfall, flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas, particularly in the Chenab Valley, Pir Panjal Range and hilly parts of Kashmir. Residents have been advised to avoid nallas and streams and remain alert for waterlogging and other weather-related hazards.
