Chemistry lecturer Shabir Ahmad Dar succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura on Tuesday, taking the death toll in the July 9 Kanihama road accident in Budgam to two.
Dar, a resident of Gofbal Kunzar in Tangmarg, had been critically injured in the crash, which earlier claimed the life of Physics lecturer Manzoor Ahmad Malik.
The deaths of the two Education Department lecturers have sparked widespread mourning. Education Minister Sakina Itoo expressed condolences and called for a fair and transparent inquiry into the accident, while Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma also paid tribute to the deceased educators.
