The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir has arrested a wanted fraudster, Abdul Majeed Mir of Kupwara, who is allegedly involved in multiple cheating, forgery and fake employment scams across the Valley.

Officials said he was apprehended while evading arrest in connection with a 2015 Crime Branch case. Police stated that 11 criminal cases are registered against him at various police stations in Kashmir, with four under investigation and seven already charge-sheeted.

Following his production before the court, Mir was remanded to judicial custody and lodged in Central Jail Srinagar. The EOW has urged the public to remain vigilant against employment fraud and report suspicious activities to the police.
