Bandipora: Incessant rain and snowfall over last two days led to two  landslides on Belnipura-Kiatson road in Bandipora district, cutting off three major villages of Aloosa block, Bandipora. All residents of Kiatson , Ducky and Dangarnar villages are totally dependent on this lone lifeline for their daily livelihood. Army camp at Kiatsan (under Paribal Tekri Battalion in Wular Garrison) reacted immidiately and cleared the land slides to restore traffic on the road.

A civic action team from the Company, alongwith civil administration and villagers rushed to the spot and cleared the slides. With no special equipment available the mammoth task was completed manually in just three hours.

The immediate action by the army unit was appreciated and gratitude was conveyed by all the residents.

Sarpanch of Kiatson village Mr Mirza Khan said Army has yet again shown their credibility in dealing with any situation with swiftness and it has definitely enhanced the faith of locals in Army.
