PM should apologise to nation for his remarks on Cong nexus with Pak : Manmohan
New Delhi, Dec 11 : Describing as ‘falsehood’ and ‘canards’ the allegations made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi charging the Congress of nexus with Pakistan to impact the Gujarat polls, senior Congress leader and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday demanded that the PM apologise to the nation to restore the dignity of his office.
‘I sincerely hope that Prime Minister will show the maturity and gravitas expected of the high office he holds instead of concentrating his energy solely on erroneously conceived brownie points. I sincerely hope that he will apologise to the nation for his ill thought transgression to restore the dignity of the office he occupies,’ Dr Singh said in a statement.
Saying that he was ‘deeply pained’ and ‘anguished’ by the falsehood and canards being spread by the PM to ‘score political points in a lost cause’, Dr Singh, in a statement, charged Mr Modi of tarnishing the tarnish the constitutional office of a Former Prime Minister and Army Chief.
