Srinagar: A high level delegation of All J& K Plus Two PSC Lecturer, s Association felicitated Hon, ble Minister of state for Education Shakti Parihar at civil SecretariatSrinagar. The delegation greeted minister for assuming the charge of education department as MOS .The delegation discussed the whole education scenario with the minister and bring forward the demand of streamling the system of education. The minister expressed positive gestures and assured every possible support for resolving all the issues the community confronted. The direct recruited lecturers submitted a memorandum seeking the grant of assured career progression in favour of plus two lecturers. The delegation termed it partial and unjustified that SRO 202 was applied to only gazetted cadre I,e +2 lecturers and are denied of Assured Career progression. The delegation appealed state minister to plead their case at government level because they can’t leave the institution at the cost of the career of the students. The delegation of direct recruited lecturers asked education minister to expedite the process of regularization as per set laws and said that the government order no 743 of 2007 needs to be implemented in letter and spirit so that the seniority of the direct recruits may be protected. They further highlighted the demand of restoring 40% quota for higher education, placement of lecturers and creation of posts for different subjects at +2 level. The delegation expressed great satisfaction over the response received from him and said that they are having high expectations in the coming days so far as the quality education is concerned. The delegation apprised him grave issues and said that there are very rare promotion opportunities in the department leading to stagnation which adversely effects the psychological makeup of lecturers. They also said that the lecturers have to work at the same post for more than twenty years on the same grade which is sheer injustice with the lecturer community. The delegation further demanded abolition of SRO 202 which causes frustration and stress among newly recruited lecturers and it also develops negative perception for teaching profession in the aspirants. The direct recruited lecturers assured Education minister that they are committed to work with zeal and zest and will leave no stone unturned for implementing the initiatives taken by the Department to achieve new heights of excellence in the field of Education. The delegation also met finance minister and sought assurance regarding sanction of ACP in favour of +2 cadre. Altaf Bukhari assured the delegation that their demand of ACP has never been denied and will be fulfilled in due course of time. Mansoor Ahmed Khan vice president of the association thanked finance minister for is sympathetic consideration. The delegation also visited special secretary, additional secretary and appreciated for processing all pending files including data compilation for placement in a time bound manner.
