Militants, forces exchange fire in north Kashmir
Srinagar: A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out at Shiltheria area of Haril Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on wee hours of Friday.
Though the government of India (GoI) has ceased operations against militants in the ongoing month of Ramazan, Army’s 30 RR cordoned off Dobimohalla Haril after receiving information about the presence of militants.
As the forces reached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired on them resulting a gunfight.
Local sources said that there was lull in the area after brief cross firing however the search operation is continuing.
Some sources said that militants escaped from the area but officials are yet to disclose the actual position. (Agencies)
