Teachers hold massive rally in Bandipora

Bandipora: A massive rally of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and General Line Teachers was organised in north Kashmir’s Bandipora Saturday for pressing for their “genuine demands.”

Under the banners of The United Forum teachers from all zones of Bandipora district marched from main chowk to mini secretariat where they shouted slogans against the government.

The protesting teachers threatened to lock the schools from 11th of June till 13th if their demands of de-linking their salireis was not fulfilled and salaries were not regularized.

They also demanded that general line teachers be included in 7th pay commission.

The teachers gathered in the mini secteriate lawn where the sit in protest was going on.

Reports of same kind of teacher’s protests have also reached from Budgam and Baramulla. (Agencies)
