100 days celebration of Tripura BJP postponed
Agartala, Jun 15 :With the advice of BJP national executive committee, the party state unit postponed the celebration of 100 days of the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura which was scheduled on June 18.
BJP national president Amit Shah and other top leaders of the party were scheduled to attend the event.
Tripura Chief Minister and BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb said that he had briefed the deteriorating flood situation of the state to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP general secretary Ram Madhav over phone yesterday.
Later, Amit Shah spoke to chief minister and took the stock of flood situation and assured that not only the Central government, also the party is stand with the distress people of the state. He has also advised the ministers, MLAs and leaders at the grassroot level of BJP to engage in relief and rescue operations.
“Amit Shahji asserted that he will attend the celebration of 100 days of the government later when situation becomes normal and the state could overcome the distress condition. The party has been working for the people of the state but hosting a celebration during the turbulent phase of the state is not proper. Therefore, we cancelled all the program of 100 days of the party for the time being,” Deb said.
He however, stated that the government has given highest priority to the peoples’ cause and improvement of the basic amenities and services. In 100 days of power, the state government has carried out exemplary works for the cross section of the society and committed to do the best in coming days, Deb added.
