South Kashmir: Two Shopian students miss class 12 exams due to police detention
Srinagar: A class 12 student of this southern Kashmir district has missed two final examination papers after he was detained government forces during nocturnal raids from his home at Gund-Darvesh (Daershalnoo) village.
Zefam Fayaz was among nine persons who were arrested on October 23 by forces.
Gulshana Banoo, mother of Zefam told that she made repeated pleas to the police to let him sit in the examinations, however, the police turned down her requests.
“My husband even told police to put him custody till his son appear in the examinations,” she said.
Fayaz Ahmad Dar, father of Zefam, said that his son missed Education and Environmental Science papers which were scheduled on October 29 and 31. He said that he was studying at government higher secondary Munand Kulgam and was scheduled to sit for exams at Yaripora higher secondary in Kulgam district.
Another student who missed Education paper o the same class due to detention was arrested from home on October 30.
He was identified as Ubaid Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Chitragam village in Turkwangam belt of the southern Kashmir district.
