Div Com reviews development works at Ramban

Stresses on distt Admn for comfortable Shri Amarnath Ji Yatr

 

RAMBAN, MAY 25: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari took comprehensive review of major development projects and schemes of various departments here today. He convened a review meeting in this regard after visiting at various places of the district.

District Development Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, ADDC Ravinder Sadhu, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Mohan Lal, CPO Uttam Singh, SSP Traffic and various other sector officers and concerned agencies were present there.

In the meeting the Div Com reviewed the preparedness being made by the district administration for forthcoming Shri Aramnath Ji Yatra. Threadbare discussion was held on various issues of Yatra and necessary measures to be required for making it successful while it passing through the district.

Instructions were passed for proper maintenance and management of National Highway stretch from Nashri to Banihal in such a way that transportation of vehicles especially during yatra do not obstruct. He stressed for keeping ready necessary men and machinery in order to deal any type of exigency on the highway. Jamming, congestion and other problems are to be dealt with quickly, he said.

The Div Com instructed all the officers to work in synergy and ensure all basic facilities everywhere in the district on priority during holy Ramzan and Yatra season. He emphasized for completing all pending works which are connected with the holy Yatra.

Engineers were asked to maintain the quality and time-bound completion of all development projects ongoing in the district. He stressed for evolving clean and responsive administration who work for welfare of general public.

Meanwhile, a meeting with senior citizens and prominent people was also held in which the locals raised the issues of staff shortage in schools and health institutions, ration supply, essential services, proper road connectivity, isolation of Batote after functioning of tunnel, local level employment of youth in construction companies and immediate redressal of public grievances in all revenue and other offices.

Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner apprised the Div Com on the various initiatives taken for speeding up the development process in the district besides providing prompt services to the locals at their door steps. He said strict measures are taken for those who do not work to the satisfaction of local people or hampers the service delivery mechanism.

Earlier, the Div Com along with District Development Commissioner and other officers visited at proposed sites of yatra camps and langers for ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Various instructions were passed to district administration for putting in place all requisite arrangements for pilgrims passing through this district.

The Div Com also visited at places where the construction companies were dumping muck and extracted material. He passed instructions for not dumping muck beyond the designated locations and follow all norms while undergoing construction works.

He also discussed disaster preparedness plan in the meeting for which it was informed that a total of 13 shelter sheds have been set up in the district besides taking other on-site action plans. The main locations are Maitra, Banihal, Tethar, Nowgam, Main Bazar Ramban, Chanderkote, Karol, Ramsoo etc.  He also reviewed the progress under various revenue components and asked the revenue officers to resolve every matter of their field besides regular touring and inspection in the field.
