SRINAGAR (KPS):Amid pro freedom slogans, thousands of people today participated in the last rites of Adil Farooq Magray, a civilian who was killed after forces opened fire on protesters in Shopian district of south Kashmir last evening.
Emotional scenes were witnessed during Adil’s last rites with women wailing and beating their chests. The funeral prayers of Adil was held at his native village Ganawpora. Hundreds of Men, women and children participated in the funeral procession. Due to presence of huge gathering of mourners who marched to the village from several areas of south Kashmir, Adil’s funeral prayers were held three times.
Adil, a college student, was hit by a bullet in his chest after forces opened fire to disperse protesters who were trying to disrupt an anti-militant operation in the village.(KPS)
