Air pollution: Govt contemplating aerial sprinkling
New Delhi, Nov 11 : The air quality index in the national capital continued on the gloomy side, with the levels of particulate matter recorded in ‘Severe’ category, at 406 and 255 for PM10 and PM2.5, respectively.
In view of the alarming situation in the national capital, Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain on Friday said the government has initiated talks with the New Delhi-based helicopter service company Pawan Hans for aerial sprinkling of water, to settle down the dust particles, responsible for the rising pollution.
Taking to socio-microblogging site Twitter, he posted ‘Delhi Govt is in talks with Pawan Hans (Helicopter Company) for aerial sprinkling of water over the city to bring down particulate matter.’
