Jammu, Feb 2 : A child was charred to death while two others got injured as fire broke out in a house in Bahu Fort area here on Thursday night.
“A fire engulfed the rented accommodation of a house when the family had lit a candle due to power failure in Ward Number 47, Press Morh Mohalla of Bahu Fort locality,” police sources said here on Friday.
They said that the fire engulfed the room in which a minor boy identified as Veeru Kumar, 8, charred to death while his father Raju Kumar and brother sustained injuries.
They were residents of Lucknow and were putting in the locality in arented house, police added.
Meanwhile injured have been rushed to the hospital due to serious burn injuries.
