Lucknow, June 19 : Two people were killed when fire engulfed two hotels near Charbagh here, on Tuesday morning.
Five others were critically injured in the incident.
The fire broke out first at SSG Hotel and later spread to the adjoining Virat International in Naka police station area at around 0600 hrs.
SSP Deepak Kumar has confirmed two deaths and said that the toll can increase.
However, hospital sources said while four bodies have been brought, five others are battling for their lives.
According to an eye-witness, the fire started from bar-cum restaurant of SSG Hotel with a big explosion and later spread to Virat International.

Fire officials said around 50 people have been rescued from the hotels and the blaze has been doused.
Six fire tenders were pressed into service to control the inferno.
