Sensex opens at 37,849 21 pts, record high
Mumbai, Aug 7 : The BSE sensex surged by 158 points at 37,849 a
fresh record high in opening trade on Tuesday on brisk buying in
Meals, Consumer Discretionary Goods and Service.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 36 points to
11,423.15.
Later, it slipped nearly 82.85 points to 37,609.04, at this
moment the Sensex was trading at 37,609.04 points as selling was
seen in Energy, FMCG, Industrials, IT and Telecom stocks.
The Sensex registered intra day high ane low at 37,876.87 and
37,586.88 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,428.95 and
11,359.70 respectively.
The losers were Adani Ports by 5.86 pc to Rs 374.45, Coal India
by 1.89 pc to Rs 277.50, Bharti Airtel by 1.14 pc to Rs 381.80 and
Reliance Industrials by 0.88 pc to Rs 1181.
The gainers were Asian Paints by 2.12 pc to Rs 1426.40, Yes Bank
by 1.11 pc to Rs 381.55, VEDL by 0.80 pc to Rs 225.80 and L & T by
0.65 pc to Rs 1299.65.
