Mumbai, Sep 25 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday moved up by 187.28 points to 36,492.30 as fresh buying was witnessed in Banking, Realty, Materials, Metals and
Finance stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose by 40.70 points to 11,008.10.
The sectoral indices like Banking, Realty, Materials, Metals and Finance stocks pushed the market up in early trade.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,511.43 and 36,064.10 respectively.
The Nifty registered intra day high and low at 11,041.35 and 10,882.85 respectively.
The gainers were Yes Bank by 4.31 pc to Rs 236, Axis Bank by 3.20 pc to Rs 616.70, Sun Pharma by 3.01 pc to Rs 642.50, Asian Paints by 2.46 pc to Rs 1297 and Maruti Suzuki by 2.46 pc to Rs 7986.15.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 1.82 pc to rs 351, Powergrid by 1.79 pc to Rs 194.90, Kotak Bank by 1.30 pc to Rs 1134.45 and Tata Steel by 0.94 pc to Rs 600.90.
