Resumption of Panchayat functions: Government orders maintenance of Panchayat Ghars

Srinagar : The government of J&K state has order the concern authorities for the maintenance of the panchay Ghars so that the formal work will resume without any hindrance.

The government in its order through Department of Rural development and Panchayti Raj has ordered Director Generals of Jammu and Kashmir respectively to issue instructions to concern officials in order to keep panchayat Ghars neat and clean for proper functioning.

“It is impressed upon the Director General Rural Development Jammu and Director Rural Development Kashmir to issue immediate necessary instructions to the all ACDs and DPOs including BDOs to keep panchayat ghars neat and clean and ready for functioning of panchayats,” said a copy of which lying with Valley Media Service.

“It would also be in fitness of things that after initial cleaning, the building be handed over to panchayats for maintenance, upkeep and use thereafter,” it reads.

As per the circular no. 02-RD&PR of 2019 the functions of panchayats are likely to begin after oath taking ceremony and trainings of panchayat functionaries. (VMS)
