Govt Bans 25 Books in J&K for ‘Propagating False Narrative and Secessionism’

The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered a ban on the publication of 25 books, stating that they promote a “false narrative and secessionism” in the Union Territory.

According to the official order, the government has also declared that all copies of these books, along with any related documents, are to be forfeited.

The titles and content of the banned publications have not been fully disclosed yet, but officials said the material posed a threat to public order and national security. The ban was issued under relevant provisions of the law dealing with seditious and inflammatory content.

This move comes amid ongoing efforts by the administration to curb what it describes as "anti-national propaganda" in educational and public discourse.
