Martyrdom Anniversary of Hazrat Uthman (RA) Observed in Srinagar

A grand religious gathering was held at Markazi Jamia Masjid Shalteng, Srinagar, on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Ameer-ul-Momineen Hazrat Syedna Uthman ibn Affan (RA), attended by a large number of scholars, imams, religious personalities and members of the general public.

Addressing the congregation, Allama Dr. Ghulam Rasool Hami, Patron and Chief of Karwani Islami International, paid rich tribute to the religious, social and humanitarian services of Hazrat Uthman Ghani (RA), describing his sacrifices as an unparalleled model for the betterment of humanity.

Allama Hami highlighted the compilation, standardisation and dissemination of the Holy Quran during Hazrat Uthman's caliphate as one of his greatest contributions to Islam, saying it has kept the Muslim Ummah united upon a single authentic Quranic text across all generations. He also spoke of Hazrat Uthman's legendary generosity toward the poor, orphans and the needy, and his provision of water and public welfare facilities for Muslims.

Referring to the historic Bayat al-Ridwan, Allama Hami said the Prophet's (PBUH) declaration that his own blessed hand represented the hand of Hazrat Uthman (RA) stood as a clear testimony to his elevated rank and esteemed status in Islamic history.

On a contemporary note, Allama Hami appreciated the anti-drug campaign launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and reaffirmed that Karwani Islami International remains actively engaged in public awareness and anti-drug initiatives. He urged parents, teachers, religious scholars and social organisations to play a constructive role in the moral upbringing of youth to build a healthy, responsible and drug-free society.
