An active spell of monsoon rainfall is expected across Jammu and Kashmir from July 20 to 22, with the Jammu region likely to receive the heaviest showers. According to weather forecasts, rainfall activity may intensify on July 22 due to the interaction of a Western Disturbance with monsoon winds.

The forecast warns of a high risk of flash floods, possible cloudbursts, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and landslides or shooting stones along vulnerable stretches of the Jammuโ€“Srinagar National Highway.

Authorities have also been advised to closely monitor the Amarnath Yatra during the wet spell.
